AFP Honors Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger with 2026 Pioneers for Prosperity Award
KINGSPORT, TN – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) presented U.S. Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (TN-01) with its 2026 Pioneers for Prosperity Award, recognizing her commitment to protecting taxpayers, advancing pro-growth policies, and expanding economic opportunity for hardworking Tennesseans.
Congresswoman Harshbarger played an important role in advancing the One Big Beautiful Bill, also known as the Working Families Tax Cuts, helping secure permanent tax relief for American families and small businesses while preventing the expiration of key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
The legislation also delivered new tax deductions for qualifying tips and overtime pay, additional tax relief for seniors, and permanent protections for small businesses.
As a former small business owner, Harshbarger understands firsthand the challenges facing entrepreneurs and working families. Her support for policies that encourage investment, strengthen Main Street businesses, and reduce the federal tax burden reflects priorities AFP has championed across Tennessee and nationwide.
AFP-TN State Director Tori Venable issued the following statement:
“Congresswoman Harshbarger understands that every dollar Washington takes is a dollar a Tennessee family or small business can’t put toward building a better future.
“She helped deliver one of the most significant tax relief packages in a generation, standing up for hardworking Tennesseans who deserve to keep more of what they earn.”
Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger issued the following statement upon receiving the award:
“I’m truly honored to receive the Pioneers for Prosperity Award from Americans for Prosperity. When Washington gets out of the way, hardworking families and job creators thrive, and that’s what I fight for every day in Congress. Thank you to the entire AFP team for your partnership and for championing freedom and opportunity for every East Tennessean. I’ll keep fighting to put taxpayers first.”
