Americans for Prosperity Recognizes Congressman Matt Van Epps with 2026 Pioneers for Prosperity Award

NASHVILLE, TN – Less than a year after winning a special election to represent Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, U.S. Congressman Matt Van Epps is being recognized by Americans for Prosperity (AFP) as a recipient of its 2026 Pioneers for Prosperity Award.

The award recognizes members of Congress who take an active role in advancing policies that promote individual freedom, economic opportunity, and responsible government.

In his first year in Congress, Matt Van Epps has built a record of putting Tennesseans ahead of Washington, supporting greater control over health care dollars, pushing back against costly regulatory mandates, protecting ratepayers, and advancing greater government accountability. His record reflects the core belief that government should remove barriers to opportunity, not create new ones.

AFP-TN State Director Tori Venable issued the following statement:

“Ten months may not seem like much time in Washington, but Congressman Matt Van Epps has already demonstrated that you don’t have to spend decades in Congress to start tackling the issues that matter to Tennessee families.

“What stands out to me is his willingness to address problems people deal with every day. Whether it’s helping young families manage the cost of health care, supporting American energy production, or working to strengthen government accountability, he’s focused on issues that have real consequences beyond the halls of Congress.”

Congressman Van Epps had this to say about the award:

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this award from Americans for Prosperity. I will continue fighting for fiscal responsibility, government accountability, and policies that put taxpayers first.  Thank you for this recognition and for championing freedom and prosperity for all Americans.”
