Key Victories Over the Years

From Memphis to Mountain City, Americans for Prosperity–Tennessee has been a driving force behind transformational policy victories that have reshaped the state’s political and economic landscape. Since its founding in 2013, AFP-TN has grown into a statewide grassroots powerhouse, mobilizing over 46,000 volunteers to champion limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual freedom. Whether advocating in the legislature or organizing in local communities, AFP-TN consistently delivers results that empower Tennesseans to pursue their version of the American Dream.

AFP-TN has led the charge on landmark reforms that expand opportunity and remove barriers. The chapter was instrumental in securing Universal Statewide School Choice, repealing the Hall Income Tax, and defeating efforts to expand Obamacare in Tennessee. It also helped pass Certificate of Need reform, increasing access to health care by eliminating outdated regulations, and successfully advanced the Right to Work Constitutional Amendment, protecting worker freedom for generations to come.

These victories reflect AFP-TN’s commitment to breaking barriers and building a Tennessee where freedom and opportunity flourish. Through strategic policy engagement, relentless grassroots energy, and a belief in people over government, AFP-TN continues to shape a future where every Tennessean can thrive.

Issues

Regulatory Freedom Act

The Regulatory Freedom Act will bring an end to bureaucratic rule making that has the force of law. We must move away from unelected bureaucrats making laws and move back to elected officials doing their jobs.

Property Taxes

For too long, Tennessee county & city governments have used the Tennessee taxpayer as a blank checkbook for their out-of-control spending on pet projects. We must cap property taxes before county government makes it completely impossible for homeowners to keep their property.

School Choice

Every parent, student, & teacher across the state should have the right to benefit from the school choice program being proposed by Governor Lee. It should be universal in application, & preserve home / private school independence.
